The Singer of Dire Straits Wouldn't Show Up for a Rock Hall Induction, But He'll Show Up to Accept a Scottish Music Award?

December 6, 2018

Dire Straits was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year, but singer Mark Knopfler refused to show up denying us of the band's first reunion in over 20 years, and maybe fun performance of "Sultans of Swing".

Mark never gave a reason why, and never said anything to Dire Straits fans. Maybe he's against the idea of the Rock Hall maybe he can't stand his former bandmates or maybe he was just too lazy to travel. But he DOESN'T mind accepting awards.

Because he was nice enough to show up at this year's Scottish Music Awards to accept the Living Legend Award. It's worth noting that Mark is FROM Scotland, and he didn't have to be there with his old band but still.
