Watch Kanye West's first Presidential campaign ad

'Stepping out on faith'

October 12, 2020

In case you’ve been living under a rock or just returned from living off the grid, Kanye West has been selectively pushing his run for the presidency for the last few months. And now with election day coming up, Ye decided to level up, sharing his first official campaign ad, all about the importance of faith.

The 80-second video starts off with Kanye standing in front of an image of a black-and-white American flag asking a list of questions, “What is Americas destiny? What is best for our nation, our people? What is just, true justice?” And after watching it through, we actually have a question of our own, Kanye where exactly are you looking? Maybe into the future, who really knows, all we know is his gaze met the camera a total of zero times.

Kanye continues his thought, further iterating his faith-based platform, “we have to think about all these things, together as a people. To contemplate our future, to live up to our dream, we must have vision. We as a people will revive our nation’s commitment to faith, to what our constitution calls the free exercise of religion, including, of course, prayer. Through prayer, faith can be restored.”

He concludes the video by saying, “by turning the faith, we will be the kind of nation, the kind of people, God intends us to be.”

The video ends with the classic campaign ad disclaimer, “I am Kanye West, and I approve this message.” Followed by a final screen that reads , “Write in Kanye West,” which is what voters in most states will have to do, since the rapper had a hard time getting on official ballots.
