Say 'I Dough': Domino's Debuts $9,000 Pizza Slice Engagement Ring

February 5, 2020

Say "I dough."

If pizza plays an important role in your relationship, if it’s the first meal you shared together, or if you met at Domino’s, listen up!

Domino’s Pizza in Australia unveiled a diamond pizza slice engagement ring that will make one pizza lovin’ bride very happy.

The impressive 18-carat yellow-and-white gold ring features a slice of cheese and pepperoni pizza on top. The ingredients are made of little rubies, per the press release.

“How many great love stories have started over a slice? How many awkward dates have been saved by the arrival of the pizza delivery?" Domino's Chief Marketing Officer Allan Collins said.

“Pizza is made to be shared with the ones we love, so this year we want to honour that with something really special and help create the greatest, if not the cheesiest, proposal ever,” he added.

The ring, which isn’t edible because of the blinding diamonds, is reportedly worth more than $9,000 and has a total diamond weight of more than one carat.

Unfortunately, it isn’t available for purchase.

Instead, Domino’s Australia launched a contest on social media to give “one lucky pizza lover” a chance to pop the question using the most expensive pizza slice ever.

Fans who want to share a "pizza their heart" with their significant other can enter to win the ring by submitting a 30-second video explaining how they would include pizza in their proposal.

"Think you've found your slice of heaven and are ready to say, 'I cheese you'?" writes Domino's of the contest. "We're giving one lucky pizza lover the chance to make a truly dough-mantic proposal this Valentine’s Day."

The franchise will help bring the pizza proposal to life and provide the bling.

They’ll also cater pizzas on the day of the wedding.

Entries close on February 12 with winners announced in secret as to not ruin the surprise.
