Dick's Sporting Goods Will Be Closed on Thanksgiving

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 1020 KDKA) - Pittsburgh-based sports retail giant Dick’s Sports Goods is joining a growing list of major retailers that have announced they will be closed on Thanksgiving this year.

"We are so thankful to our teammates for their hard work and dedication," said Ed Stack, Chairman and CEO. "They have navigated this year with strength, commitment and care for each other and for our customers. We will continue to do all we can to support them and show our gratitude."

In addition, store and distribution center employees will continue to receive a 15 percent pay premium through the end of the year.

In past years, Dicks’ has had limited evening hours on Thanksgiving.

The Thanksgiving closure also applies to specialty stores Golf Galaxy and Field & Stream.

Dick's will be joining other retailers who announced they will be closed for the holiday this year, including Walmart and Target.

Thanksgiving is on Thursday, November 26. Dick’s will reopen for holiday hours on Friday, November 27.
