Cher has been on a mission to save the Post Office, but things aren't really going as planned.

The singer has been waxing-poetically over the past week about the United States Postal Service, from its first postmaster general Benjamin Franklin to its critical importance in the 2020 presidential election on November 3 due to coronavirus restrictions.

The service has been struggling over the years, and delayed deliveries could hinder the arrival of mail-in ballots and delay election results amid Donald Trump's refusal to provide $25 billion in financial aid. To help raise funds, citizens have been purchasing stamps and sending letters to boost the system. But Cher had another idea.

"Can ppl volunteer at post office!?" she asked her 3.8 million followers on Twitter. "OK,Called 2 post offices In Malibu. They were polite. I Said'Hi This Is Cher,& I Would like to know If you ever take VolunteersLady Said She Didn’t Know & Gave Me # Of Supervisor.I Called & Said Hi This is Cher Do U Accept volunteers.'NO,Need Fingerprints & Background Check,' she continued.

Fans have responded advising her to donate mail sorters, register as a poll worker, or even design a stamp collection to bring some much-needed help and awareness to the service's struggles.
