Betty White, 98, Set to Star in New Lifetime Holiday Film

May 11, 2020

It really will be a White Christmas.

Actress Betty White is doing her part to spread some much-needed holiday cheer by starring in a new Christmas movie for the Lifetime network, reports Entertainment Tonight.

The movie starring the 98-year-old “Golden Girls” veteran will be one in a series dubbed “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime.”

In the film, White’s character “helps whip would-be Santas into shape, spreading the true meaning of Christmas,” according to ET.

The vigilant merrymaking work leads everyone in the film to wonder whether White’s character is actually a benevolent Mrs. Claus.

While White has been busy at work on a slew of projects — lending her voice for Bitey White in "Toy Story 4" and the Disney+ spinoff "Forky Asks a Question" — her on-screen roles have been sparse in recent years.

Although this Christmas miracle shouldn’t come as that big of a surprise. As recently as 2017, White had guest roles on “Young & Hungry” and “Bones.”

The “It’s a Wonderful Lifetime” series will run from October through Christmas. Other films in the series will include “Merry Liddle Christmas Wedding,” a sequel to “Merry Liddle Christmas” starring Kelly Rowland, and “Feliz NaviDad,” a Melissa Joan Hart-directed flick starring Mario Lopez as a single dad.

Lifetime said the films for the holiday series are in various stages of production, despite the effects of coronavirus on the film and television industry.

The holiday series is set to begin airing on Lifetime on October 25.
