The Plain White T's "Hey There Delilah" Is Being Turned Into a TV Show

August 8, 2018

The "Hollywood Reporter" says that the Plain White T's song "Hey There Delilah" is being turned into a TV show for some reason. It's being described as a "scripted dramedy" about a long-distance relationship. The band IS involved in pitching the concept to various networks but it's unclear if they'll have any part in the show.

The song came out in 2006, and it's about a long-distance flirtation between a struggling musician and a college student. And that's about it. It's actually odd that the show would even need to be 'adapted' from "Hey There Delilah", since it's relatively generic. But I suppose that the show would WANT to capitalize on the Plain White T's name, and the song's popularity.

Some people think there's a creepy stalker vibe to the lyrics . . . but that's kind of open to interpretation.

For what it's worth, singer Tom Higgenson . . . (not to be confused with the guy who plays Loki) . . . says it's basically a true story. It's about a girl he fell for when they were both already in relationships.
