The Beatle posted his own video, set to Rae Sremmurd's "Black Beatles." And the meme has come full circle.

Rae Sremmurd’s “Black Beatles” is a contemporary homage to Beatlemania, and it hasn’t escaped Sir Paul McCartney’s radar—neither has the #MannequinChallenge the song inspired. The Wings founder tweeted a video of himself standing frozen over a piano while a snippet of the track plays. Goofy Paul really is the best Paul.

McCartney was participating in the #MannequinChallenge, a social media sensation that gets folks to freeze on video while a song (usually the Sremmund track) sets the soundtrack.

If anyone has a claim to the song, the challenge or Rae Sremmurd’s Beatlemania, it’s Macca. And it’s only taken a few days for this meme to come full circle—a welcome respite during these uncertain times in America.
