Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham will be the next late musical legend to return to the stage in holographic form, if his son Jason Bonham has his way.

Jason Bonham told Legendary Rock Interviews that he has been speaking to special effects experts about having a hologram of his dad joining his tribute group, The Led Zeppelin Experience, onstage. with the hologram.

“When I first started doing this, I was working with some of the people behind some of the biggest tribute tours like Pink Floyd Experience, The Beatles, and now I’m doing it,” he said. “It’s imperative that I continue putting together the best shows and take it to the next level. I’m talking to people about holograms, and my dream is to do the hologram drum solo with my dad next to me.”

Bonham sat in for his father at Led Zeppelin’s one-off reunion concert at the O2 dome in 2007, which was released last year as the Celebration Day album and DVD. More recently, Bonham performed for Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones at the Kennedy Center Honors in December, when he played drums for Heart during their performance of “Stairway To Heaven.” Bonham is currently opening for Heart.

Digital Domain Media Group famously created a Tupac Shakur concert hologram at 2012′s Coachella Festival, bringing the rapper “back to life” onstage after he had been dead for 16 years. However, that company went bankrupt later that year.
