Don’t bogart that joint, man. That’s essentially what Washington Judge Jack Emery told Police in Tacoma Thursday, according to theHuffington Post.

Actually, Emery ordered the return of the marijuana that was seized by police from Joseph L. Robertson during a traffic stop.

“Appeal or comply,” Judge Emery warned city attorney John Walker, “or next week, show up, and I would advise you to bring counsel.”

Righteous, totally righteous, but why would a Judge be so tolerant of the chronic?

Well, in May of last year, Robertson was pulled over for speeding. He was dinged for driving without a license and misdemeanor possession. But the drug charges were dropped after Washington voters legalized carrying small amounts of weed.

Robertson, who carries a medicinal marijuana card, then asked for the seized marijuana back, but police refused.

Judge Emery said that was bogus and ordered police to return the green, but the cops have been steadfast in their refusal. However, police could soon be facing contempt charges if they don’t comply.

Far out, man.
