A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for fans, investors, museums and collectors to own a piece of rock history, art and other personal property of Rolling Stones’ guitarist and two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Ronnie Wood is offered in an auction next month.

On Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, Julien’s Auctions will begin a exclusive auction of Property From The Collection of Ronnie and Jo Wood. The collection features memorabilia from an era spanning four decades: from Wood’s time with The Faces, throughout his tenure with The Rolling Stones, and solo career as a musician and artist. Items include stage worn leather jackets and clothing, two Ronnie Wood custom painted Fender Stratocasters, backstage passes, collectible Rolling Stones books, guitar picks, vinyl record albums, a Mick Jagger handwritten note to Wood, a twice signed Mick Jagger Rolling Stones poster, a cardboard cutout in the form of a guitar body inscribed “To Ronnie from Keith,” and other Rolling Stones memorabilia Jo collected over the years.

Besides music memorabilia, the Wood collection includes fine antiques, furniture and decorative art from Holmwood, the Surrey countryside estate once shared by Ronnie and Jo Wood. The décor is said to have a ‘modern Rock ‘n Roll aesthetic’. Other interesting items being offered include a set of nine original John Lennon and Steven Verona cartoon drawings used in The Beatles’ first music video and portraits of Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, and Bob Dylan.

After the auction became public, Ronnie Wood came forward to deny any involvement in the auction. Wood says some of the items were ”clearly his personal belongings.”

A statement released through Ronnie Wood’s publicist says, “He is therefore shocked and disappointed that this auction is being misrepresented as a joint sale. This is not the case.”

It continues, “Ronnie feels saddened that Jo has taken this course of action and wants the public to know he has not teamed up with Jo on this outrageous sale.”

Ronnie and Jo’s divorce was finalized in 2011, after 24 years of marriage. Three years before the divorce, the couple split after Ronnie’s widely reported relationship with waitress Ekaterina Ivanova.

Jo Wood, an organic beauty brand founder, author, columnist, stylist & interior designer, environmental campaigner and all around lifestyle enthusiast, will be releasing her memoirs in February of 2012. Her autobiography will reveal her stories about a wife of a Rolling Stone.

A portion of the proceeds from the auction benefits MusiCares, a nonprofit organization of The Recording Academy that provides emergency financial assistance and addiction recovery resources to music people in need.
