Colorado rock band The Fray return with a new full-length album, two years since their self-titled sophomore record failed to garner much success. On Scars & Stories, the band sets out to prove “How To Save A Life” was far from a fluke or the only trick up their sleeve – click through to see how the new record fares.
Citing Pearl Jam and Bruce Springsteen as they inspiration behind Scars, The Fray move past their tried-and-true piano ballads and elevate their recorded sound to the highs of their stadium rock shows. Produced by Brendan O’Brian, the new album has more energy than any prior release – choruses bombard with a wall of sound that do wonders to support Issac Slade’s vocals, cascading new sonic proportions around a group that sounds more confident than ever. Lead single “Heartbeat” (watch the video above via VEVO) fits nicely next to recent releases from Snow Patrol and Nada Surf.
