Michael “Fitz” Fitzpatrick and his six-piece backing band the Tantrums are bringing soul back to the new millennium with the single “Don’t Gotta Work It Out,” from their debut album Pickin’ Up The Pieces.
Fitzpatrick was inspired to create [pullquote quote=”Sometimes, the Music Gods just give it to you” credit=”Fitz”] Fitz & The Tantrums one day after he bought an old church organ and found himself enthralled by the instrument’s sound. The very first night he had it, he wrote the song “Breaking The Chains of Love,” the first track on their album. ”Sometimes, the Music Gods just give it to you,” Fitz says.
With the addition of six other like-minded musicians, Fitz soon had a full band to support his vision, and since the they’ve been on a tear, going from Fitz’s living room to sold-out venues in less than a year.
