The did-he-or-didn’t-he debate finally ends

[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jim Morrison[/lastfm] is expected to be posthumously pardoned for indecent exposure by the state of Florida later today.

Governor [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Charlie Crist[/lastfm] has secured the two votes necessary from the state’s Board of Clemency in the case against Morrison. The [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Doors[/lastfm] legend was convicted of indecent exposure in 1969 when he allegedly exposed himself and “acted lewdly” during a concert in Miami.

His bandmates have consistently argued that Morrison never exposed himself. According to keyboardist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ray Manzarek[/lastfm], “It never actually happened.”

Manzarek tells the Daily Mail: “It was mass hypnosis. He was just doing a mind trip – as they would say – a mind trip on the audience and they totally fell for it.”

Morrison, who was found dead in a bathtub in Paris in 1971, was appealing the conviction at the time of his death.
