Rock giants [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]AC/DC[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Slash[/lastfm] and the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rolling Stones[/lastfm] swept top honors at the Classic Rock Awards, held last night in London.

Rolling Stones guitarist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Ronnie Wood[/lastfm] took the stage to collect the Reissue of the Year award for the new edition of Exile on Main Street.

“I was just with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Mick [Jagger][/lastfm] and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Charlie [Watts][/lastfm] this afternoon and they said to say thanks a lot – and why weren’t they invited?” Wood joked.

AC/DC netted the Band of the Year Award, with Slash taking the Album of the Year award.

The show was hosted by [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Alice Cooper[/lastfm] and included performances by the [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Union[/lastfm] (the new band from [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Thunder[/lastfm] guitarist [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Luke Morley[/lastfm]), [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Alter Bridge[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Cheap Trick[/lastfm].

“This year’s award winners include two bands that had a number one album in 2010 (the Rolling Stones and AC/DC), a band with one of the most downloaded songs in history ([lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Journey[/lastfm]), and a band who just completed the second-highest grossing concert tour in music history (AC/DC again) – all proof that rock music is still the most exciting genre in music,” said Classic Rock‘s Editor-in-Chief [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Scott Rowley[/lastfm].
