stp STP Refutes Lip Synching ClaimsMembers of [lastfm]Stone Temple Pilots[/lastfm] are speaking out about rumors that frontman [lastfm]Scott Weiland[/lastfm] has been lip-synching in concert.

Bassist Robert DeLeo told Weekender that the accusations, which surfaced after Weiland fell of the stage at a concert in Cincinnati late last month, were “bulls**t.”

“It’s so funny, because first off, if anyone in this band was lip-syncing or faking it, I wouldn’t be up there,” DeLeo said.

Weiland has already addressed the rumors, telling an audience in Pittsburgh, “There has never been a time in the 25-plus years that I have been singing with these guys or a combination of these guys or with other musicians that I have not sang.”

He added, “So whoever started that bulls**t claim, like so many other bulls**t claims, which is the problem with modern technology . . . We are a rock and roll band, (and) rock and roll bands perform live.”
