The two documents include the films’ original titles The Beatles and The Beatles II. In various interviews about the films, the Fab Four recall Lester’s patience in the face of their capricious youth.

“Dick Lester knew that very little would get done after lunch,” says [lastfm]Ringo Starr[/lastfm] in an interview for The Beatles: Anthology.

John Lennon added, “We were smoking marijuana for breakfast during that period. Nobody could communicate with us, it was all glazed eyes and giggling all the time.”

With the Beatles scripts, Lester also donated letters from Audrey Hepburn, Raquel Welch and Charlton Heston.

“The organization has always been very helpful to me in different ways. It is a pleasure for me to be able to offer them the detritus of my working life,” Lester said of the donation.
