[lastfm]Jack Johnson[/lastfm] has declared that he will be giving $70,000 to the Gulf of Mexico oil-spill recovery efforts.

Through his new charity, the [lastfm]Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation[/lastfm], the singer is donating $30,000 to various organizations and additional money will be dispersed as matching grants.

In other news, the singer will be heading out on the second leg of his [lastfm]To the Sea tour[/lastfm] on August 13, starting in Salt Lake City. [lastfm]Johnson[/lastfm] has auctioned off tickets for the prime seats to his August shows through Ticketmaster, giving all the proceeds to his All at Once non-profit partners.

Johnson’s latest album, [lastfm]To The Sea[/lastfm], debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard chart and was also successful on the charts in the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Switzerland. In its first week, the album – his third – sold 243,000 copies.
