[lastfm]Van Halen[/lastfm] have announced that they are currently working on a new album with their original frontman [lastfm]David Lee Roth[/lastfm]. The band’s last album was 1998’s Van Halen III, which they recorded with[lastfm] Extreme [/lastfm]frontman [lastfm]Gary Cherone[/lastfm].
The offering will be Van Halen’s first full-length album with Roth since their best-selling album 1984, which was released in 1983. They have also renewed their longstanding deal with Warner/Chappel. Eddie and the boys are expecting to release the album sometime in 2011 and reportedly plan to follow it up with a reunion tour.
Van Halen last reunited with Roth for their 2008 tour, which brought in over $93 million in 74 shows, according to Billboard.
