paulmccartney 102209 Paul McCartney Makes His Nashville DebutLast week, [lastfm]Paul McCartney [/lastfm]gave his first ever performance in Nashville. The show took place July 26 at the city’s Bridgestone Arena.

The three hour set included a wide range of [lastfm]Beatles[/lastfm], [lastfm]Wings[/lastfm], and solo songs. He performed such classics as “Ob-La-Dee, Ob-La-Da,” “Got To Get You Into My Life,” “Let Me Roll It,” “Blackbird,” “Something,” “I’ve Got A Feeling,” “Hey Jude” and “Live and Let Die.”

During the show, McCartney pulled a 12-year old boy out of the audience to perform with him on “Get Back.” He later brought up another audience member to join him on stage before the band closed its set with “Helter Skelter.”

He also paid homage to “Music City” while by walking out on stage with a massive Tennessee state flag before ripping into “Day Tripper” for his second encore.

The former Beatle has also made recent headlines as the recipient of the U.S. Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.
