[lastfm]Carlos Santana[/lastfm] is officially off the market. The singer professed his love to acclaimed drummer [lastfm]Cindy Blackman[/lastfm] onstage in Tinley Park, Illinois, last week and asked her to marry him.
According to a press release, Santana popped the question four songs into his show, following Blackman’s drum solo in “Corazon Espinado.” The drummer said “yes” and the two kissed as the audience began cheering.
Santana is currently out on the road with his Universal Tone tour, featuring [lastfm]Steve Winwood[/lastfm] as opening support. The run features hits from the singer’s more than 40-year career, as well as songs from his upcoming album, Guitar Heaven: Santana Performs The Greatest Guitar Classics Of All Time, which is set for release September 21.
The offering will be the first new studio album from Santana since 2005’s All That I Am. It will reportedly feature such guest vocalists as [lastfm]Pat Monahan[/lastfm], [lastfm]Joe Cocker[/lastfm], [lastfm]Rob Thomas[/lastfm] and [lastfm]Gavin Rossdale[/lastfm].
