The estate is in Berkshire, England, and is called Ashdon House. It was secured through a 41-year lease with the National Trust, a British charity that protects hundreds of homes and outdoor spaces across the U.K. As a condition of his purchase, Townshend agreed to keep portions of his house open to the public two days a week from April through October.

The Ashdon House is a six bedroom home that dates back to the 17th century. Berkshire itself is one of the oldest counties in England, with history dating back to the 800s A.D.

Among the few areas of the home that will remain open to the public is the structure’s roof, said to give spectacular views of the Berkshire Downs hills in southern England.
