[lastfm]Liam Gallagher [/lastfm]has revealed that his band will officially be called [lastfm]Beady Eye[/lastfm]. The group is currently in the studio recording music for their first post-[lastfm]Oasis[/lastfm] album.
After his brother, Noel, quit Oasis last year, Gallagher said of settling on a new name, “If we don’t come up with something else by the time we’re ready to release the album, it’ll be Oasis. I’m not going to call myself something ridiculous just for the sake of it.”
The frontman is planning to release Beady Eye’s first single in October. A string of live shows will reportedly be scheduled around the release date.
Liam and his Beady Eye bandmates – [lastfm]Gem Archer[/lastfm], [lastfm]Andy Bell [/lastfm]and [lastfm]Chris Sharrock[/lastfm], all former members of Oasis – are currently recording material for the upcoming release with [lastfm]U2[/lastfm] producer Steve Lillywhite.
