metallica 1027093 Big Four To Hit The Big ScreenMetalheads upset over missing out on the star-studded Big Four tour hitting Europe this summer can cast their worries aside. The June 22 date of the tour – which features [lastfm]Metallica[/lastfm], [lastfm]Slayer[/lastfm], [lastfm]Megadeth[/lastfm], and [lastfm]Anthrax[/lastfm] – will be shown in 450 theatres across America.

The show from Sofia, Bulgaria, will be broadcast in high definition in 800 theaters worldwide. This is the closest many fans will get to seeing some of the biggest names in heavy metal, as no U.S. dates are currently planned.

“Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal’s big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time,” Metallica drummer [lastfm]Lars Ulrich [/lastfm]said in a statement.

Megadeth frontman [lastfm]Dave Mustaine [/lastfm]noted that the tour is “a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ opportunity for heavy metal ‘fans’ to see the four greatest heavy metal ‘bands’ in American history,” and added that “if there are any heads left at the end of this Festival that haven’t banged, they don’t belong there.”

The festival will be touring across Europe for seven stops this summer. Those unable to attend the shows can get tickets for the satellite broadcast now at
