georgeharrison0926091 Martin Scorsese To Release George Harrison DocumentaryAcclaimed director Martin Scorsese has revealed that his [lastfm]George Harrison[/lastfm] documentary may be released next year. The film will look into the [lastfm]Beatles[/lastfm] guitarist’s life before, during and after his tenure in the band, and will feature unseen footage and previously unheard songs. The project, which has been in the works for nearly three years, is produced by Nigel Sinclair and will be released through Spitfire Pictures. “His music is very important to me,” Scorsese said of Harrison in an interview with Billboard. “So I was interested in the journey that he took as an artist. The film is an exploration. We don’t know. We’re just feeling our way through.” Scorsese also noted that he was drawn into the project by Harrison’s spirituality. “That subject matter has never left me,” he said. “The more you’re in the material world, the more there is a tendency for a search for serenity and a need to not be distracted by physical elements that are around you.”
