The band will be playing with fellow Boston rockers the [lastfm]J. Geils Band [/lastfm]– marking the first time the two bands have played together on the same stage.

The tickets for the show went on sale on Saturday, and is reporting that they were sold out by mid-day on Sunday. The concert at the home parl of the Boston Red Sox is set for August 14.

For Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler, the concert will mark his second appearance at Fenway this summer. He sang “God Bless America” at the April 4 game between the Sox and the New York Yankees.

“When I heard that Aerosmith would be playing Fenway Park this summer, naturally I freaked out. Then I heard it was going to be with the J. Geils Band. I knew that this is an event that I, like all hard-core Bostonians, have been waiting for for 40 years,” Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry said while on tour with his solo effort the Joe Perry Project, according to

    Actually the tickets were gone @ 10:09 on SATURDAY!.The show sold out in 9 minutets!!!
