blur Blur Will Release Two New Songs For Record Store Day[lastfm]Blur[/lastfm] will release two songs in support of this year’s Record Store Day on April 17.

The songs will be released as a limited-edition seven-inch vinyl single, but the names of the tunes have not yet been released. They were recorded two weeks ago and mark the first tracks by the band since their string of reunion shows last summer. It is expected that only 1,000 copies of the records will be issued.

The Blur release is part of a series of limited-edition seven-inch singles to highlight Record Store Day, which supports independent record stores.

Frontman [lastfm]Damon Albarn[/lastfm] said of the venture, “We want independent record store to continue, they’re an important part of our musical culture. Music is a simple way for Blur to show our support and we hope people like it.”
